The first action taken when Families First in Education – Wales was launched in October 2021 was to write an open letter to Education Minister, Jeremy Miles MS, to rebut statements made by the then Children’s Commissioner, Professor Sally Holland, concerning the UNCRC and its implications for elective home education. Holland’s term as Children’s Commissioner came to an end in April the following year, and therefore whilst the points made in our submission remain very relevant, there is little point in continuing to collect signatures to that letter.
